'I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me' (Matthew 25:35-36). Christian Renewal Church is privileged to be the only church that is able to visit the inmates at the Glynn County Detention Center twice a year …the Wednesday before Christmas and before Mothers Day. At Christmas we share Christmas Cards colored and personalized by the students of Heritage Christian Academy, Christian literature and home-baked cookies made by members of our church family. For Mothers Day we take pre-stamped Mothers Day cards, Christian literature and home-baked cookies. We usually prepare for 500 inmates and it takes great effort by our entire church body to “get it done!” That adds up to A LOT of cookies--with up to12 per bag! Updated information is posted in the weekly bulletin during these times. |
