BILL LIGON ~ Senior Pastor

Bill Ligon holds the B.A. degree from Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee; and the Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

He experienced the call of God on his life at age 18 and has ministered as a pastor-teacher since 1955. After serving student pastorates in Tennessee and Kentucky while in school, he became the Assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, Florida. He also served as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Madison, Florida; the Lee Street Baptist Church of Valdosta, Georgia; and the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, Georgia.

He and his wife, the former Dorothy Jean Reeves of Tallahassee, Florida, served for six years as Southern Baptist missionaries to Spain. The year 1970-71, Mr. Ligon was professor of Christian Ethics at the Spanish Baptist Seminary in Barcelona, Spain, during which time he was baptized in the Holy Spirit.

He founded the Christian Renewal Church of Brunswick, Georgia in 1973, and has served as Senior Pastor of the church since then. He was one of the founders of the Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International (FCMI) with churches in eight states and three foreign countries. He is the author of the books, Discipleship: The Jesus View, published by Logos International, "Imparting the Blessing to Your Children" and "Steps To Maturity".

Mark Linton has an Associate degree in Health and Physical Education from BJC (Coastal GA Community College) and a Bachelor of Theology from Beacon University. Since coming on staff in 1990, he has served in many capacities which include Director of Children’s, nursery and Youth ministries, Youth Pastor, bible teacher for HCA Middle and High school, Eagles girls and boys softball coach, boys JV basketball coach, and various other duties. For over 15 years Mark served as Director of Kingdom Kids Camp, a multi-denominational summer camp that ministered to an average of 400 kids a year and he has served as the chaplain for the Brunswick High School Football team “The Pirates.”  His responsibilities as chaplain included a pre-game meal for every home game with a 20-minute devotional from the Good News of Jesus Christ as well as Prayer with the team before and after every game.  Mark's favorite hobbies are fishing, golfing and snowboarding.  His greatest accomplishment on this planet is, without a doubt, marrying his wife Liz.

Liz has a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University and is employed by the Glynn County School System as a third grade teacher at Glyndale Elementary.  Mark and Liz have been blessed with two wonderful children, Mark Anthony, who is a graduate of HCA and UGA.  Their daughter Megan is a graduate of Heritage Christian Academy and Coastal College of Georgia.  Both are now married, active in ministry and have a desire to see a mighty move of God in their generation.

Miss Kellen Lariscy serves as our Children's Pastor as well as a teacher and assistant principal in Heritage Christian Academy. She has an A.S. in Education from College of Coastal Georgia, a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Kellen is a 2001 graduate from Heritage Christian Academy. She was teacher of the year in 2013. She has over 11 years teaching experience. She has also served as the school basketball coach for eight years.

Her love for children and her excellence in providing quality learning experiences with spiritual growth emphasis are an asset on the pastoral team at CRC.

Mark Anthony Linton became CRC's Youth Pastor February 1, 2016, when his father, Mark Linton, became CRC's Associate Pastor. Mark Anthony grew up in Christian Renewal Church and has served many years alongside his father in the Youth Ministry as a volunteer assistant and worship leader in the youth meetings on Wednesday evenings. He also serves on the CRC Worship Team on Sunday mornings. He was the worship leader at the Awakening Church in Athens, Georgia, when he was a student at the University of Georgia, where he earned a degree in Business Marketing.

Marks' wife, Anna, is a fifth-grade teacher at Glyndale Elementary School. They were married in 2014.

 Donnie started going to Christian Renewal Church when he was 15 and was here for 20 years before becoming a worship leader at one of the island churches where he served for 5 years. When he was at CRC before, he served as a worship leader, choir director and musician.

Donnie loves ushering in the presence of the Holy Spirit into a place where people want to experience Him through music.

Donnie and Susan have two daughters, Ashlee and Alex. Ashlee is a student at Coastal College of Georgia and is a Heritage Christian Academy alumnus, like her parents. Alex goes to Heritage and is in the 5th grade.
